Vika's got a boyfriend and SPF - Happy Friday!

This week was an eventful one in our family. Vika started kindergarten and two days into the school year, she already has a "boyfriend." She can't remember his name, but told me that she thinks they might get married someday. I hope he transfers to the same school she winds up at so the romance can continue to blossom. :)

With everything going on, I still found the time to play Stuff Portrait Friday. Here is this week's assignment:

SPF:

1. Show your Support (everyone supports something right?)

Being a teacher, I support kids. I love helping them learn new things and seeing their eyes light up once they
finally "get" a new concept. These are some of the first graders I taught during my time as a student teacher. They were a wonderful group of kids, and I loved working with them. In the end, I think learned much more from these kids than they learned from me.

2. Show me your sacrifice (everyone makes them right?)

The thing I think I sacrifice the most of in my life right now is time. Specifically, free time for myself. I
just don't seem to get enough of it! I'm sure it is the same for every parent, but I do look forward to the time when I can spend a whole day curled up on the couch with a good book!

3. Something red.

When I was in Chicago, my mom, Gramps and I went to the Crown Fountain at Millenium Park. Playing in the fountain's reflecting pool was a little girl in a beautiful red dress that had a bit of a Chinese flare. I captured this shot of her right before the fountain began "spitting" water, and all the kids clustered together under the spray. After that, getting a better shot of her became impossible! At least she seemed to be having a great time!

Time? What is that? Between Policy Council, Parents Committee, and 4 kids, I don't even have that to sacrifice any more...LOL! I love the picture of the little girl in red, kids playing in water are great!

    Nice pics! Awesome red shot.

I did not play, because I just woke up. I fell asleep at 6:30 and now I am awake, at midnight. Had I played, what I support would be the makers of Kleenex, what I sacrifice is the ability to breathe through my nose this week, and something red is Sudafed. One-track mind, I tell you.

I love that Vika's going to marry someone whose name she does not know. Plenty of time for those formalities after the ceremony.

  4. Love the picture of the kids (bet they had a blast when the water turned on).

Time? What the hell is that?

    I played.

Great SPF! Your sacrifices, especially for your students, are no doubt very much appreciated. I truly appreciate what teachers do for my grandkids! Thanks for stopping by!

  14. Melissa Says:

I support my kids (also a teacher) and every charity that comes my way. I can't say no to anybody. I sacrifice my time to getting my class in order before Thursday. My red thing is Rita's watermelon ice. I found out this summer that I like it. Also my eyes from lack of sleep. I am not used to getting up this early after having the summer off.

Vika is gorgeous so that is no surprise she already has a cute little kindergarten love- I think she is going to have to fend the boys off for the rest of her life!
