All I want for Christmas is You
To commemorate the anniversary of the day we adopted Vika and Eamon, we would like to share our video from Trip 2.
Throughout our struggle with infertility and during the adoption process, Christmases were a bit difficult. I always had the thought in my mind that “maybe next year” we would be able to share the holidays with our child. But the holiday would be tainted with sadness when Christmas rolled around and we were still childless.
Before we decided to start a family, I had loved the song, “All I want For Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey. But during those difficult times, the song took on a bittersweet meaning. However, once we got our court date and learned that we would be bringing Vika and Eamon home on Christmas Eve, the song once again became joyful, and I thought it captured our feelings perfectly.
I hope you enjoy the video. If you to wait for the entire thing to load before clicking play, it may help the clip run smoother.

Jenni I am crying my eyes out. That is by far the most joyful video I have seen. That song is my favourite Christmas song, and I can sure related 'All I want for Christmas is you...(child(ren)). Days that are tough (like what happened to me today) I am so thankful for people like yourselves who keep their blogs going after they are home. You make it an easier process, knowing that one day soon we too might have what we most want.
Vika and Eamon are adorable, what amazing children they are. What a very special family.
Merry Christmas and thank you!
Jenni,
This was so beatiful. I had goose bumps through the whole video. Thank you for sharing!!! Have a wonderful holiday!!
Jenni-
Okay, three days in a row!!
Tears! Arg!
:)
Just as Gretchen said, "just as that first "you" was sung and Vika's face appeared, tears instantly came to my eyes."
Well done!
Jeff & Family
So very beautiful Jenni, I cried also. :)
Merry merry Christmas to you all.

Perfect.
Wow! It made me cry. What a special Christmas blessing! Glad they are home.
How awesome was that!? I loved every second of that and watched it with a big cheesy grin!
p.s. I hope you burned those awful sandals and those big poofy head things!
HA! Your P.S. is too funny Starfish. Those sandles were defintely sad. Especially paired with the tights. Poor guy - at least they were better than the PINK tights they had him dressed in for his referral photo!
We were only able to bring one poofy hair thing home, and it is tucked away in Vika's memory box. Once I asked her if she wanted to wear it, and she wrinkled her nose in distaste. That's my girl! :)
Your video was so touching, how adorable! Your children are beautiful and look like they both have a great sense of humor.
Merry Christmas (late)!
Just watched this for the first time, not sure how I missed it. Jenni, I'm bawling my eyes out!! How far they have come....and to think, next month it's 2 years!
