Alphabet Tag

Kate had an open tag on her blog, and since I am still in a post-holiday haze and can't think of much to write, I thought I'd take her up on it. Let the game of Alphabet Tag begin!

A is for age: 33 *sigh*.

B is for beer: A beverage Jeff loves to brew. Harp lager is my favorite.

C is for career: Elementary school teacher (currently substitue teaching a couple days a week)

D is for my dog's name: Don't have one, but if I did, I would name him after the bully that used to terrorize my brother and I as children (Boonie).

E is for essential items used everyday: Computer, facial sunscreen, electric kettle for brewing tea.

F is for favorite colour: I love green - pretty much any shade will do.

G is for game: Blarney is my favorite. Although Jeff and I have been playing Memory a lot with the kids too.

H is for hometown: Tucson, Arizona! I haven't lived there for 20 years, but it is the place I was born and will always be my hometown.

I is for instruments I play: I briefly played trombone as a child, but my arms were not long enough to reach all the notes, so I gave it up.

J is for favorite juice: Cranberry.

K is for who's butt I'd like to kick: If I was a violent person, then pretty much any hateful extremist type. Or Boonie (see letter D, above).

L is for last place I ate: My mom's house for Christmas dinner - beef tenderloin, roast potatoes, garlic green beans and apple cranberry pie!

M is for marriage: Married to Jeff for nearly 5 years.

N is for my name: Jenni

O is for overnight hospital stays: Nope, never had one of these (knock on wood).

P is for people I was with today: Jeff, Vika and Eamon. We've been cleaning up the Christmas mess for hours!

Q is for quote: "What fun is being cool if you can't wear a sombrero?" from Calvin and Hobbes. I know it isn't particulalry deep, but I like the idea that you should have fun being yourself, rather than be concerned about what others might think is cool.

R is for biggest regret: That I have not yet traveled to Africa. I really wanted to go there before I became a mom, as traveling there with kids could be complicated.

S is for sport: Soccer, both to watch and play.

T is for travelled to: Russia, Australia, England, France, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Canada, all of the Western USA, New York City, Hawaii, Florida, Washington DC, Tennessee, Chicago.

U is for current underwear: This is kind of personal, but here it goes - "boy" briefs for girls (comfort comes first, in my book)

V is for vegetable I adore: Asparagus. I love it raw or cooked. I also really like turnips and yams. Yam pancakes are my current favorite breakfast!

W is for wish: My personal, selfish wish - an all expences paid trip to Tanzania. My wish for the greater good is that all the adoption blogger friends I've made are able to bring their children home soon, and that the Iraq war ends so the soldiers can return home to their families.

X is for x-rays I have had: If you don't count the various ultrasounds I had during my fertility treatments and short-lived pregnancy, then the only thing I've had x-rayed is my teeth.

Y is for youthful ambition not fulfilled: To be a dolphin trainer and to own a ranch filled with horses.

Z is for zodiac: I'm a virgo, Jeff's an aquarius. According to astrology, we shouldn't be compatible, but 11 years together has proven that theory incorrect!

I'm going to leave this as an open tag as well - for all of you out there who are also tired after the holidays and experiencing a bit of writer's block.

I LOVE your quote. Calvin and Hobbes are big favs of mine. I also laughed at the picture of a little, tiny girl trying to play the trombone. ;>

Simply wonderful. That's so funny you want to go to Tanzania, my friend is a nurse there and many of my family have lived in Africa.

I too have never been, what I would like to do is take my children on an eco friendly safari maybe when they are around 8 and 10 or so, old enough to remember it, young enough to want to travel with their mom. I would try to combine it with a week helping in an orphanage. Once I have my kids home, it is the thing to start saving for!!!
