Good things come to those who wait...

So much has happened in the adoption community these past few weeks. Several families have received referrals, and others have gotten their court dates to adopt their children! We completed our adoption around the holidays last year, and our kids have made Christmas even more special in our family as a result. I am so excited that many of my blogger pals will also get that same joy this holiday season.

First of all, I'd like to wish safe travels to Jen, who leaves with her husband TODAY to pick up Pineapple from Russia. I'd also like to offer congratulations to Melissa and Denise, who have received their court dates and will be returning to Russia soon to bring home V and Evan.

Starfish is currently in Colombia with her husband and new son, Sebastian. He's a real cutie, and I've enjoyed learning about Colombian adoptions through her experience. I hope that they are able to return home soon and share this wonderful gift with their families.

Congratulations to Lauren and Marco and Jeff and Maria! After a rough referral process and much heartache, both families have met their children! I look forward to the day when Cupcake and Tyler will be home with their forever families.

Finally, I'd like to wish Margaret the best of luck and hope that one of those open windows leads her to her son soon!

Even though Jeff and I have not met you in person, we are so happy that you have received the best holiday gift of all - your children!

Thanks, Jenni! I'm hoping against hope that this Thursday's committee meeting for "Smiley" goes my way.

I know, I remember thinking that when I got my news I could start a homestudy in Feb (the average wait here for a homestudy is 10 months because it has to be done through the local gov't as if you were doing a domestic adoption) I was thinking the same thing. There has been some great adoption news recently! Best wishes to them all. I can't wait to see where we all our next Christmas. I just hope I am with my son or daughter, or at least know who they are!

Thanks Jenni! Reading your blog kept me going through the process - seeing how happy you guys were and how wonderful adoption could be. Our family (family!) wish you a very very Merry Christmas. Big hug to your great kids.
