Career Decisions - a 5 Year Old's Perspective

Eamon has decided that despite the fact that they get to drive really cool trucks, he does not want to be a garbage man anymore. This is mostly my fault. One day, as he was throwing a fit over cleaning his room, he mentioned how he was going to leave and become a garbage man. My response was, "But Eamon, then you'll have to clean up messes ALL DAY LONG! That's what garbage men do - they keep things clean!." Poor guy fell back onto his bed in despair after this statement. But, then he got up and cleaned his room.

While he still wants to be a knight, Eamon's got another career choice swirling in his mind as well.

Below is what he said when a conversation about jobs came up over dinner:

E: I want to be a police officer!
Me: Really? How come?
E: 'Cause then if I accidentally drive too fast, I won't go in jail!

Mental note: Don't let Eamon drive until he's 30.
