It's Official!

Vika and Eamon are American Citizens! Technically, they became citizens the moment they set foot on American soil, but this weekend they each received the official United States of America Ceritifcate of Citizenship from the Department of Homeland Security. They weren't nearly as excited about this as we were, but I'm sure someday they will think it's cool.

More exciting for the kids than official certificates of citizenship were scraps of fabric and a big JVC box we had in the garage. The box was soon converted into a dormik (house), and the kids tied the fabric around their heads to transform themselves into babushkas (grandmothers). Eamon, unfortunately, is a bit of a drag-queen. It looks like he may be following my footsteps into the theatre business, although not in the way I had hoped... He also does a great Cher impersonation (although he doesn't know it). Hopefully I can get a picture to post here someday soon. Until then, content yourself with this one of the boxed babushkas.
