Brew-ha-ha
Today the kids and I joined Babushka at a Russian American Festival in Palo Alto (pictures to follow later), leaving Jeff home to pursue one of his passions, brewing beer. Since his other passion is photography, I knew I could count on him to document the process.

Unfortunately, he did not get any photos of the Pyrex measuring cup he blew-up during the course of the day. Did you know those things could explode? All it takes is a few minutes on a red-hot burner, followed by a sudden drop in temperature, and BAM! This is so out of character for Jeff, that I found the story quite amusing. Luckily, both he and the beer were unscathed by the flying shards of glass, and the hefe weizen is currently safe and sound in the "primary fermenter." It should be ready in about a month, just in time for the 4th of July!

I tapped into the keg on the 4th as anticipated, and shared it with our friends Gretchen & Craig, "grandpa and grandma" and my wife. There were lots of complements, but me being my own worst critic--It could always be better, a great excuse to make more soon. Cheers!
