Helpful Russian Words and Phrases for Adoptive Families

When Jeff and I were preparing for our first trip to Russia to meet Vika and Eamon, we began a list of "Helpful Russian Adoption Phrases." It was our hope that this list would facilitate communication with the kids and enable them to feel more comfortable with us. We added more phrases to the list based on discussions with our interpreter, Tania, and after we got home and realized we would need words like, "don't hit," and "play nicely." So, here is a link to the list (in PDF format) for anyone planning on adopting from Russia. Hopefully it will come in handy. I've also included a link to download Acrobat Reader, the application you will need to read the file.
