Severe Alert Status

I had to post a link to Mary-Mia's blog because this "Incoming Referral Advisory System" is so true when you are adopting internationally. It was in July of last year that we received our first referral from Russia, a blind referral for 2 boys. Because the system was going to practically shut-down in August, they wanted to rush us through, which resulted in about a week's notice for travel (this sounds like a lifetime compared to Jen's 3 days notice!). We declined that referral, because we really wanted a girl and a boy, and wound up back in the blue, "Guarded" phase of the Advisory System. So strange to think that was a year ago.... Anyway, I hope the remaining days in July bring referrals to those of you out there who are still waiting. In the meantime, enjoy Mary-Mia's blog, and hang in there! The next big rush for referrals seems to come in the Fall (when we finally got our referral for Vika and Eamon).
