Yard Work
Our back yard is not exactly what you would call "kid friendly." In the 7 years we've lived in this house, we've managed to sod only half the yard (we got some sod for free and never got around to buying more to finish the job). We have done a bit of work here and there - taking out all the gravel and weeds that was the previous owners' "landscaping," putting in a stepped garden area, a corner patio area, and planting various trees and flowers along the permiter. Still, the yard was (and continues to be) a mess! However, this weekend, we finally bit the bullet and bought enough sod to complete the entire yard. What a concept! Now our kids don't have to play in dirt and mud! It was a lot of work, and there is still much to do, but here is the progress so far.
Our yard thrashed after taking all the old sod out.
Vika watching Jeff roto-till the soil.

Finally, sod in the sideyard!
Hopefully we'll keep up the momentum and actually finish the yard so that Vika and Eamon can play out there a bit. Of course, that should be just about the time we decide to buy a new house with a bigger yard and move out! Thus, beginning the cycle again....

Looks great! At least you will have a little time to play in the yard before you decide to move. It will probably help you to sell and make more money too. So you will get many benefits. It is worth it and it looks like fun too!
