Yellow my Chicken!

Do you know what this means? I didn't either. So, you can imagine my confusion when Eamon came up to me with this wicked grin on his face, pushed my arm playfully and exclaimed, "Yellow my chicken!" He did this a few more times throughout the day, and each time I just smiled helplessly and nodded, pretending that I understood. Later, when Jeff came home from work, Eamon went up to him and repeated the same "Yellow my chicken!" ritual. Much to my surprise, Jeff seemed to understand. He hunkered down over Eamon with an exaggerated scowl on his face, pushed him lightly on the shoulder and said, "Out of my kitchen!" Apparently, this is a game they play in the morning when Jeff is making breakfast. Eamon comes into the kitchen and starts getting into everything. Then Jeff hunkers down, scowls and says, "Out of my kitchen!", at which point, Eamon runs away squealing. "Yellow my chicken!" is Eamon's English Language Learner way of saying, "Out of my kitchen!" Mystery solved!

Hilarious! Those moments are the things I look forward to the most as a new mom. Just last weekend, my 3 year old little cousin, when asked how old he was, said in a VERY serious voice "I am 3, but when I am 16 I will drive a car". We cracked up!
