Trick-or-Treat and a Common Thread

Halloween is over and we are all coming out of our sugar comas. Vika and Eamon had a blast trick-or-treating with their friend Rachel! At the first house, they were a little unsure, but by the second, they were running on up to house yelling "Trick-or-treat!" before door was even open! I had worked very hard with Eamon to get him to say, "Trick-or-treat you scurvy dog!" And he was doing really well. But, once the excitement of getting candy kicked in, he completely forgot his lines. He did manage one "Thank you! ARRRRRR!" which made me smile. Vika took on the role of trick-or-treat director for the evening, and was great about making sure all three kids were at the door before they knocked. That's my girl!

This week is also National Infertility Awareness Week. A movement called Infertility’s Common Thread has been started to help spread awareness about what women go through when experiencing infertility. Having had my own struggle with infertility, as well as a miscarriage, during a time when all my family-minded friends were getting pregnant, I well understand the many mixed emotions that go through your head. It's definitely not a fun place to be. But, fortunately for us, there are many ways to start a family, whether your body cooperates or not! Please click here to learn more about the Common Thread movement.
