SPF: Buttons

This week's SPF assignment from Random and Odd was Buttons. It could be a ‘button’ nose, butterscotch ‘buttons’, clothes buttons, button/pins, button flowers…anything really.

Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling too creative, so here's what you get: a quick shot of a Bucket O' Buttons from Michael's. This was taken while shopping for craft papers with Vika. They must have one heck of a security system at Michaels' because within minutes of snapping this photo, 3 sales representatives came into the aisle and began "working" around me. I'm not sure what mischief they thought I was up to (do thieves usually take pictures of an item they plan to steal?), but it was quite amusing to see them pretending to be busy, while covertly watching me from the corners of their eyes.

As a former Michael's employee, I must tell you that buttons are the number one item shoplifted from the craft mecca.

I'm totally lying. But I did work at Michael's once, and you totally stole the souls of those buttons.

Nice SPF, btw. Reminds me of when I was little and would play with my grandmother's jewelry. She always had tons of buttons thrown in there.

    I played too!

They may have thought you were some sort of corporate spy coming to see how they display their buttons. :) Who knows? I do know that many places won't let you photograph their store because they don't want the competition using display items etc. Like you couldn't look at it and know how to do it. :)

    Thanks for stopping by mine!

This is a great shot! I can just hear the thoughts of the employees, though... "What in the world is she up to?" LOL

Perhaps they thought you were the great button thief! LOL! How silly! I know I do get odd looks sometimes when photographing things in public, but I've yet to have "the SWAT team" descend on me like you did. :-)

Happy SPF and I played too.

Nice picture. I took a picture in a store and the store security came up and started telling me how I was not allowed to take a picture. I mean how stupid. So that is probably why they were looking. I was not taking a picture of the store, I was just taking a picture of the back of this freaks hair. For my blog. They looked like a clown.

Well, at least they didn't cuff ya.

lol - funny story - amazing how taking an innocent photo can cause such reactions, huh?

I really tried to come up with something for SPF, but I had nothin' :-(

Your covertly taken picture is cute! I appreciate it not only for it's SPFness, but it's covertness ;-)
