Musical Matrimony
My brother Joe is now a husband. He and his wife are currently on their honeymoon in Italy, sipping chianti while gazing at beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside.
Their wedding was wonderful, despite the little hiccups which occurred before and after the ceremony (for example, the dry cleaners stained Angie's dress with black ink when she brought it to the to be steamed - can you imagine the freak-out this caused?). But, for the most part, they took things in stride, and had a fun evening. Vika and Eamon also did really well as flower-girl and flower-boy (Angie's youngest son was the ring-bearer), and they looked adorable in their little wedding attire. It was wonderful to have all four of us be part of the wedding.
Joe and Angie met while performing with the same party band. Joe plays drums and Angie sings. They have both since moved on to different bands, but they stayed together as a couple. The wedding and the reception reflected this musical part of their natures. When Angie made her entrance down the aisle, she did not walk on the arm of her father. No, they danced down the aisle to "The Best of My Love," with Angie lip syncing the song. Angie's band played during the reception, with her taking the microphone, and Joe even
played drums on a few tunes. Their cake was shaped to resemble a stack of drums, and the tables were all named after musical instruments. Our family was seated at the "Tuba" table (because we are loud?). The personal touches to the wedding made it a lot of fun, and a good time was had by everyone in attendance. Here are some pictures from the day.* You can see more by checking out my Flickr photo set.

* Since Jeff and I were both in the wedding, we did not get that many great shots. And can you believe that I have NO shots of my brother?! What kind of sister am I?
