Wannabe
A few days ago, I heard some ad that featured the Spice Girls song, Wannabe. I was never a Spice Girls fan, but some songs are required listening, just for cheese factor alone (like Nancy Sinatra's These Boots are Made for Walking). So I bought Wannabe on iTunes and later in the day, played the song.
As the refrain of "Yo I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want!" began issuing forth from my computer speakers, the most amazing thing happened to Vika and Eamon. All of a sudden, they began dancing manically, with huge smiles on their faces. Eamon's little arms were flailing this way and that, as his feet made frantic attempts to keep rhythm with the beat. Vika's dance had a little more style, but was still completely out of control. Jeff and I stood there watching them, quite amused by this display of dance fever.
When Jeff asked, "What's going on with you guys?" Vika huffed over to us, shaking her "groove thang" all the while, and replied, "I just can't stop dancing right now!"
Finally, the song ended, and Vix and Eames collapsed in a fit of giggles.
Who knew the Spice Girls would have such an effect on my children?

Flash Back 1978/79... when we were Vika's age "In the Navy", "Video Killed the Radio Star", and "Popmuzik" were hits... for the love of God!
We were dancing fools (don't forget "Snake Charmer" and "I Love a Rainy Night") and we turned out ok... I think. ; )

I have just started a journal of all the funny things the kids say...that would definitely be an entry!
We need to get our kids together for a dance show. We could make lots of money. ha ha
That's the only spice girls song I like too. Sometimes I can't get it out of my head. Everyone needs a good crazy dance now and then.
