Capitalist Piglet
For her birthday, Vika received a few bead kits. Not your typical plastic bead and string kits for kids either, but ones with actual wooden, ceramic and glass beads. She's been making jewelry ever since.
Well, this weekend, Vika got serious about her "beadwork" (that's what she calls it), and employed Eamon to help her put together some necklaces and bracelets. Then she came down and announced that she was opening a "bead store" with jewelry for me and Papa. She followed this by saying that we had to buy the necklaces. No more freebies from her!
When I asked how much, she looked at me and said, "Six dollars."
"Six dollars???!!!" I exclaimed in disbelief.
To which she responded with a smug look, "TEN DOLLARS!"
The little Capitalist! Most kids would expect maybe $0.50 or a dollar. But not Vika.
I tell you what, we've got to watch out for that kid. She's a mercenary little thing!

She'll either go really far in life, or just annoy the heck out of people!!
I will need to remember this story if she ever tries to sell me Girl Scout cookies!
I like that kid more and more every time I come to this blog.
She's got it figured out doesn't she?! Just make sure you don't let her catch on that they could go for double. I organize an expo for our women's magazine and every year I see the ladies bring in piles of these things and leave with tons of cash! She may be on to something! :)
I thought you might like this story Starfish. I think Vika may have a very lucrative future ahead of her. Let's just hope she shares with Mama and Papa. ;)
Now that's a girl after my own heart.
Oh, the Americanization is now complete. ;> We sold rocks to all the neighbors on our street. ROCKS! They were very good sports.
My sister and I sold rose petals to my relatives once, we cleaned up! I think we made close to $20.00.
Vika's got moxie.
In money/finances, I see 5 stars in her future!
