Vika's taste in men
Recently, I've noticed several things about my daughter and her relations with members of the opposite sex.
Vika is a terrible flirt. She actually has feminine wiles. I don't have feminine wiles, but my 6 year old daughter does. She can charm anyone, and I'm afraid she knows it. I've seen her do everything from bat her eyelashes to throw a teasing glance over her shoulder. Seriously, I could learn a few tricks from her.
Another interesting thing about Vika is her taste in men (or boys, as the case may be). She tends to gravitate towards males with dark hair and skin, like hers. All of her "boyfriends" have either been Indian, Hispanic, or African American. I guess blonds are not her type (they were never mine either).
The funny thing is that recently, she has developed this mad crush on the evening janitor at my school (also a dark-skinned male). Actually, quite a few of the teachers share this crush. I can't really blame her - he's a very attractive guy who's also really nice and goes to school by day studying to be a teacher. Vika calls him "The Garbage Man." Every time she sees him, her eyes light up and she does a little happy dance. She scurries around the classroom, helping him empty the garbage cans, and for minutes after he leaves, Vika's face wears a giddy smile.
The other day, as we were walking to the car, I teasingly said, "Vika, do you love the Garbage Man and want to marry him?" She giggled, hid her face and said, "Yes!!!" She then wen on to say, "Then I could help him empty ALL the garbage!"
Ahhh, young love.... :)
We're definitely going to have to watch her as she gets older.

Who doesn't love tall, dark and handsome? Cute. Although, she's going to be a handful when she's 16.
Ah, she likes them swarthy just like her mom! Tell her to take your garbage out on a regular basis so she can get practice! Any port in a storm.
I liked the tall and blonde. I thought it would make cuter babies that way.
My niece was like that. Even when she was a toddler. We always said she was 2 going on 20.
How cute! Scary how they grow up so fast.
You know what stinks? She probably won't be in the mood to empty the garbage at home after a long day of doing it at school. haha

Another post where I say "a girl after my own heart" - I love those dark and handsome guys too - she's got taste that girl...
The flirting talent will likely increase, but I'm guessing the desire to empty ALL the garbage will fall by the wayside!
