Give me some sugar

At Eamon's preschool there is a woman named "Teacher Alice." Teacher Alice is a tall, grandmotherly African American woman from the deep South. Being from the South, she takes life a little slower than most of us Californian's do, and with her age has come a lot of wisdom and an aura of serenity. Eamon loves Teacher Alice.

Apparently, the feeling is mutual. When Jeff dropped Eames off at school yesterday, Teacher Alice smiled gently at him and said, in her slow southern drawl, "Good morning, my sweet, sweet, little sugar man."

Upon hearing this, Eamon looked back at Jeff and nodded with a happy smile on his face, as if to say, "Yep Papa! I'm her sugar man!"

Jeff just rolled his eyes, said "Oh, brother!" and pushed Eamon into his classroom.

Sugar Man could morph into Sugar Daddy. Better watch that kid!

how sweet, it is so reassuring to know he is with someone who truly loves his little soul. I can honestly say that is not the case with all kids!
