ChatterKid Guest Post

Recently, Maggie of AmeriKid asked me to write a guest post on ChatterKid.  You can check it out here

While you're there, check out some of the older posts and the AmeriKid site.  They've got some great information and cool toys for kids of all ages.

Where are all my red dots?!

Ack! My ClustrMap refreshed itself! All my red dots have disappeared.

I hope the visitors from African and India return. Sure, they may have been the creepos who found my page by searching for "Vika feet" in Google, but I don't care! I just want my dots back!

Any suggestions on post ideas that will boost the amount of searches leading to my page?

Your Childhood Home

Mary, over at Owlhaven, is hosting a blog carnival this Friday (July 20th), in which she is encouraging bloggers to write about their childhood homes and the memories they invoke. If you'd like to participate, click on the button above and join in!

Testing, 1...2...3...

With the help of Rhonda, I've been fiddling around with my blog template. So, if it looks a bit tweaky right now, or your blog is missing from my blogroll, that's why. Hopefully I'll have it all together soon.

Thinking Blogger

I've been nominated for a Thinking Blogger Award. Thanks Jeff! There are several blogs out there that make me think, and probably all of those listed below have been nominated before. But here they are again, just in case you have missed any of them.

1) The Open Window: Maggie writes wonderfully about her experiences with domestic adoption, and has encouraged me to think about the process in a new way.

2) Owlhaven: Mary writes about Ethiopian Adoption and her experiences as a mother to 8 (soon to be 10) children. Some of her tips on parenting have led me to reevaluate the way I do things.

3) Random and Odd: Kristine writes about her daily life mostly, but she also gives the weekly Stuff Portrait Friday assignment. SPF has made me approach photography in an entirely different way.

4) PostSecret: Not sure if this one counts, but the post cards that Frank puts up each week offer all kinds of insights into the lives and struggles of people from every walk of life. They also help to give a message of hope to others who may share those struggles.

5) Go Fug Yourself: Jessica and Heather, with the help of some clueless celebrities, show clearly what not to wear (for example, white leggings are never OK). When I am in the mood for something light, these girls never fail to entertain.

All these blogs are excellent reads, and I actually could have listed a lot more, especially within the adoption community. But, since many of my readers are not adoptive families, I thought I'd spread things out a bit. However, if you have the time, there are many blogs in my blogrolls which may entertain you or make you think about something from a perspective you had not yet considered.

The Italian Babushka

Hey everyone, my mom is the newest citizen of Blog Land! Hopefully she will be using this space to record the memorable moments in her life, and not the embarrassing moments in mine (of which there are many).

Please visit her over at The Italian Babushka and say "Hi."
