Announcing...

... our annoumcements! Thanks to a couple of my reader's comments, I realized that I have mentioned our announcements a couple of times on this blog, but I have never posted an actual picture of them. So, here you go, both front and back:

In case the text is too small to see, the front says, "We've expanded our home by four feet," and the back gives the kids' info. Incidentally, the name of our blog also comes from our announcements.

Another tip for those of you adopting children who are no longer infants - Pottery Barn Kids has an adoption registry! It was the only store I could find at which I could register for things that "older" kids need. With more and more people adopting toddlers and older children internationally, I hope that other kid's stores jump on the bandwagon and start adoption registries as well.

Cute announcements. Very original. Our Sunday School class had us register at Target. It was almost impossible because everything was set for babies and due dates, etc. I didn't know about Pottery Barn.

Thanks so much for posting your announcements, they are wonderful! I love 2peas 1 pod (I think that's what they are called!).
The kids are so beautiful, what a special four feet you added to your family :-)

I love your announcement - almost as much as the picture at the top of your blog. There's just something about kids feet in the sand that makes me think of a happy childhood.

Awesome! I think I am going to steal some of this wording for our own announcement. IF that day ever freaking gets here!!

Just came across your blog recently. If you've got hits from St. P, they're from me!

OMGsh! Those are great! Did everyone just love them? How neat to be able to write down that you got them on Christmas!

Your day will come Stephanie! And feel free to borrow any of the wording that you like - to be honest, we got the idea of "expanding our home" from another adoptive family. So, I can't claim credit for the nice wording.

Jen - thanks for the compliment! While it was an EXHAUSTING Christmas Eve last year, it is pretty cool to have been able to bring them home for the holiday. They were (and are) a very special gift to our family.

    Jenni-
I loved getting the announcement, I still remember when Liz and I saw it and commented, "Wow, This is SO cool!"
If our house wasn't cleaned up for viewing it would still be on the fridge!! :)
