If you pray, make wishes or cross your fingers, please keep Dawn and Joe in your thoughts today. When we go to bed tonight, Dawn will be going to court to try and gain custody of her adopted son, Stephen. Dawn has been in Kaz for 59 days now. She and Joe lost their first referral after 10 days in country (and celebrating the little boy's first birthday together). They were referred a second child, completed the initial bonding period, went to court, and were granted their adoption request. Then, on the last day of their post-adoption waiting period, the boy's bio-mom came back to claim him (the bio-mom has not seen him since she dropped him off at an orphanage at 18 days of age, and her motives for trying to prevent the adoption are not entirely clear). This family has gone through so much heartache, and is essentially living the nightmare of every adoptive parent. So far, it seems like the court session should go in Dawn and Joe's favor, but with International Adoption, you never know.
Dawnhas requested that everyone take a moment to light a virtual candle for Baby Stephen, Joe & herself. Please visit the sight below and let her family know you are hoping for the best!

Let's hope tomorrow morning they can send the "We're Parents" e-mail that you sent us the day after court. They've had enough heartache.

I lit a candle for them!
